“You could open a toy store in here!”

“We have this bounce-y chair, I feel like it’s not a big thing. But a friend who doesn’t even have kids made us feel like we have so much stuff: ‘You could open a toy store in here! You have too much stuff.’ When you’re trying to get your kids to sleep, you’ll do anything. I think, before you have kids, there’s this fantasy that they won’t disrupt your life. I repress my feelings [when she starts judging me.] But then there’s this underlying fear that she’s right.”

Thanks Ben for sharing your #noshameparenting story. Too much stuff? 🙋🏼‍♀️. Internalizing random judgment? 🙅🏼‍♀️🚫 (📸: Ryan Polei/Flickr)
