“There are times I have to travel for work and times I choose to travel to spend some QT with my husband or friends. For the most part, people are very supportive of my traveling, but there have been comments like ‘I can’t believe you’d leave her for x amount of days’ or ‘I could never leave my kid overnight at this age.’ Like Daniel Tiger says, you can have two feelings about something at the same time – of course it’s hard to leave my daughter, but I also feel that these experiences make me a more well-rounded person and ultimately give me the space to be a better, more present and engaging mom.” –
